POSITION OUTLINE:
Candidates will have a broad background in the biological sciences with a strong emphasis in Ecology. The ideal candidate will be able to teach Introductory & upper level Ecology, Conservation Biology, Biostatistics, and lead week-long travel study courses in Marine & Tropical Ecology. The successful candidate will be hired into the research-teaching-service stream (3/3 teaching load) or the teaching-service stream (4/4 teaching load).
START DATE:
The position start date is July 1st, 2023.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct and assess students in assigned courses, in accordance with course descriptions.
Update and improve courses; work with laboratory co-ordinators to maintain currency of laboratories.
Maintain excellent communication with students, staff, faculty, and laboratory instructors and co-ordinators.
Supervise students in their senior projects.
Participate, contribute, and show initiative in program development.
Productively engage in university committee work and governance.
Engage in research (research-teaching-service stream only).
QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Biology or Ecology (must have by date of appointment).
Previous teaching experience.
Record of research and publication or strong potential (research-teaching-service stream only).
