Special Lecturer / Clinical Tutor in Medicine, UCD

Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Special Lecturer / Clinical Tutor in Medicine within UCD School of Medicine and MMUH

The Special Lecturers/Clinical Tutors play a major role in supporting, organizing and delivering clinical teaching for our students on rotation in our affiliated Teaching hospitals. The Clinical Tutors instruct and supervise students during their clinical attachment, provide lectures and tutorials as part of the formal clinical curriculum and assist with the preparation of clinical examinations. They provide academic support and career mentoring to students and ensure that the clinical rotation supports the learning objective of the relevant module.

The Clinical Tutor in this role may participate in clinical activities at Registrar level within the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. The Mater Hospital is a major acute voluntary teaching hospital and holds a pre-eminent place in the delivery of healthcare to the community of North Dublin and rest of the country. The Hospital prides itself with exceptional patient care. All Clinical Tutors are part of a vibrant community of academic staff who pass on their clinical experience and expertise to the next generation of medical professionals. The School provides academic support and training such that the Tutors themselves develop their own educational expertise and leadership.

Special Lec/Clinical Tutor\2010 (0081\X) Salary Scale: 60,927 - 71,747 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
