The Senior HR Generalist will be a member of the  UT System Administration (UTSA) HR team, and will perform a variety of complex human resources duties on a professional level, partnering closely with senior leadership to support HR processes and strategies for UTSA and campuses across the UT System. The Senior HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support in the areas of talent management, employee relations, total rewards, and analytics. Reporting to the Executive Director of HR Administration, the successful candidate will understand and support the accomplishment of strategic priorities and will build credible relationships to promote organizational effectiveness and a positive employee experience.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Administers HR plans and procedures for UTSA employees and provides support to campuses as neededPerforms special projects and research on topics related to the effective and efficient HR practicesExecutes HR strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the University of Tennessee SystemDevelops and delivers training sessions to employees and leaders at all levels of the organization on a variety of HR subject areasReviews, recommends, and implements HR metrics to measure data that will provide insights for HR decisionsProvides guidance and assistance to employees in the area of Total RewardsServes as a contact for classification and benefits inquiriesCoordinates initial classification reviews with hiring managers for staff positionsPartners with UTSA Compensation for formal position review processes
Provides support and guidance on all aspects of employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, conflict/dispute resolution and performance managementWorks collaboratively with leadership to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions to resolveUnder the direction of the Executive Director of Talent Management, the HR Business Partner willManages full-cycle recruitmentsAdvises candidates, search committees, and hiring officials on search procedures and best practicesReviews, edits, and posts job requisitions and announcementsPartners with the Chief Inclusion Strategy Officer to create diverse candidate pools and follow established hiring proceduresFacilitates onboarding processes for new employeesThe Senior HR Generalist will support a culture of engagement and belonging by treating others with dignity and respect at all times, and by exhibiting conduct that reflects a commitment to inclusion, diversity and engagement (IDE.) The HR Business Partner will respectfully communicate and cooperate with all employees and will actively participate in diversity awareness learning and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and eradicate racism in the workplace. Qualifications
Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is required. HR experience in higher education and related certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) are preferred. 5+ of progressively responsible professional human resources experience is required, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.
