Duties and Responsibilities :

Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in various areas of Mathematics. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. In addition, the candidate is expected to perform advisement duties, scholarly work, including program development, grantsmanship and supervision of undergraduate and graduate research.

Conditions of Employment:

Ph.D. in Mathematics. Interested and qualified applicants should submit two copies of a curriculum vitae/résumé, cover letter, letter of interest and teaching philosophy, unofficial transcript(s) (official transcripts will be required of the successful candidate), along with an application, at least three (3) letters of reference, and a writing sample.

Experience:

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position with a research and teaching specialty in mathematics (preferably algebra and/or number theory and/or geometry and/or numerical analysis).

Education:

A Ph.D. in Mathematics required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

Ph.D. in Mathematics. Demonstrable potential for excellence in scholarship, and in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Excellent oral, written communication skills and teamwork ability are an essential requirement for this position. The Department is interested in candidates who have an active research program, so a strong research track record in Mathematics is essential.
