Departmental Objective:Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining campus buildings utilizing the carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC trades as well as housekeeping and floor maintenance.
Purpose of the Position:To provide repair and maintenance of plumbing systems for all campus buildings, ie., water, sewer, gas, oil, steam, and any associated components. To work under direct supervision of the Supervisor and assist in all aspects of the plumbing trade. To perform all work in a professional, conscientious and safe manner.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:REQUIRED:
Working knowledge of methods, practices, materials and equipment associated with the plumbing/steam fitting trade.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems to maintain the plumbing systems, i.e. water heaters, water coolers, chemical additions, etc.
Knowledge of plumbing and gas code
Ability to maintain adequate records.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis.
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Plumber license or ability to acquire within 24 months of start date.
Experience Required: Experience in the plumbing/steam fitting trade
Valid driver’s license
Education Preferred: Trade School , Valid Journeyman Plumber License
