Summary of Position: Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for a full-time permanent faculty position in Computer Engineering and Computer Science on the Marion, Indiana campus. The ideal candidate will combine teaching with scholarly endeavors. Applicants should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, full agreement with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitment to liberal arts learning and the integration of Christian faith and learning.

Starting fall 2023 pending funding.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Job responsibilities include teaching computer engineering and computer and information science courses at all undergraduate levels, student mentoring, scholarship (preferably involving undergraduates), and university service. Teaching load is 12 credits per semester and is expected to include courses such as Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, and Digital Systems. The Division of Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Information Sciences offers majors in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematics-Interdisciplinary, and Mathematics Education, as well as minors in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Statistics, and also teaches general education courses in these areas. The Division has 7.5 full-time faculty and approximately 55 major students.

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Possession of an advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• An earned doctorate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field is preferred.

Experience

• Prior undergraduate teaching experience preferred.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work.
