Associate Directors are responsible for working closely with the Director to manage a department or specific areas of a department. These positions recommend strategy, have responsibility for fiscal and/or human resources and have the authority to act on the Director's behalf.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Associate Director of Undergraduate Recruitment position.

The Associate Director of Recruitment is responsible for leading the efforts of the territory management plan for the first year and transfer admission counselors. Development of the territory management plan in partnership with the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment relates to achieving the goals and tactics set forth by the university recruitment plan. Responsible for travel budget management. Supervise the admission counselors (recruiters) and undergraduate outreach team on their day-to-day operations. Partner with Assistant Director for Admissions Events in developing and executing off-campus recruitment-related events. This position will also have territory management and recruitment responsibilities as they oversee a small geographic territory (to be determined and assigned) which may include high school and/or community college recruitment.

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment the Associate Director of Recruitment will lead the development of the undergraduate territory management plan and assist in the development of the undergraduate recruitment plan. This position will have delegated authority over the Undergraduate Recruitment and Outreach department in the absence of the Director of Recruitment.

Examples of Work Performed:

Management and Supervision of Undergraduate Recruitment Team:
    Lead all undergraduate recruitment efforts under the guidance and direction of the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment. Including supervising and supporting admission counselors and other recruitment and outreach staff by leading them through their recruitment visits and territory management plan in the interest of achieving undergraduate inquiry, application, and enrollment targets for First Time and Transfer undergraduate students. Supervise recruitment-adjacent outreach positions which support recruitment efforts, (such as, but not limited to: the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Literacy and Assistant Director of Latinx and First Generation Outreach) and provide direction for these roles regarding their outreach and recruitment efforts across all territories, in support of the admissions counselors which are assigned specific geographic territories. Serve as operational manager for day-to-day recruitment efforts, including providing technology, product knowledge, and sales/recruitment training and development for admissions recruiters. In collaboration with the Director of Recruitment establish recruitment goals and related key performance indicators (KPIs). Work with admissions counselors to implement strategic initiatives around outreach to achieve the targets for their respective territories. Develop an annual data-informed Territory Management plan in alignment with the University Recruitment Plan. Responsible for the fiscal management of the travel budget. Conduct weekly staff meetings and bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with stakeholders to monitor the progress of recruitment efforts. In partnership with the Director of Recruitment, collaborate with the Director of Transfer Initiatives as necessary to ensure the achievement of transfer recruitment targets. Provide reports to the AVC for Strategic Enrollment on regional and national recruitment trends and best practices as well as reports on application yield rates and other relevant metrics to inform shifts in recruitment strategy. Prepare reports and analyze data for the Director of Recruitment to help inform the recruitment and territory plans and provide regular updates on territory performance and projected enrollment.

Individual Territory Management and Recruitment:
    Represent the university at college fairs, school visits, individual student and parent appointments, and other community events as needed. In addition to providing leadership and management of the undergraduate recruitment team, the Associate Director will also have a smaller geographic territory of their own for which they will be responsible for recruitment targets. This will require some travel throughout Colorado and potentially some out-of-state recruitment travel to attend college fairs and visit high schools and community colleges. Create a data-informed territory management plan for the geographic area they are responsible for and the student populations they serve there within. Manage ongoing strategic communication and programming with designated high schools and community colleges. Communicate with prospective students and their influencers about the admissions process and the benefits of earning an undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Denver through phone, text, and email outreach and by representing CU Denver at college fairs/nights and other student recruitment events and information sessions. Build relationships with High School and College counselors and administrators to create pipelines for prospective students. Leveraging technology and software platforms to make data-informed decisions regarding territory management and support recruitment outreach. Leverage a multi-modal recruitment strategy—including in-person and online tactics—to guide prospective students through admissions and enrollment processes. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations relating to recruitment and admissions.

Leadership:
    Serve as a member of the management team within the Undergraduate Admissions & Outreach team Recommend strategies, partnerships, programs, and technologies that will advance recruitment and outreach efforts of the University Actively engage in cross-team project planning and management

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $67,500.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

FLSA Status: Not eligible for overtime (exempt)

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
    A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a related field from an accredited institution. Extensive, diverse, and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for recruitment and admissions in a higher education setting. 4+ years of admissions or higher education recruiting experience.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's degree from an accredited institution. CRM experience. One (1) or more years of supervisory experience. Experience managing a recruitment territory with a diverse student population (i.e. first generation, non-traditional, transfer, etc.) Experience facilitating group presentations. Experience interpreting and applying admissions guidelines and policies.
