Job Summary:

Join Central Human Resources as the Compensation and Job Evaluation Director. This is a full-time, University Staff position. The Director leads and manages the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Compensation and Job Evaluation team. This team provides compensation analysis and consulting services to university clients for all employment groups including university staff, classified staff and faculty. The Director works to ensure leaders, supervisors, and staff are aware of compensation-related programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
    Provides compensation analysis and consulting services to university clients for all employment groups including university staff, classified staff and faculty. Provides compensation leadership and expertise in the development, improvement, and implementation of market-competitive structures, market reviews, incentive compensation, and pay equity processes. Project management and strategy related to the job evaluation function for classified and university staff positions. Project management and strategy related to the continued implementation of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. This includes working in partnership with the Office of Equity on complaint procedures for all employment groups. Supervises the compensation and job evaluation team consisting of 8 or more direct reports (2 compensation consultants, 5 job evaluation consultants, and 1 talent acquisition specialist).

This position is eligible for remote work. If the candidate selected resides in the surrounding Denver metropolitan area they may need to attend on campus meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, healthcare, biological sciences, social sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution 8 years of experience in compensation leadership/consulting which included developing salary structures, developing incentives, conducting pay equity reviews, and direct experience with job evaluation. 2 years of prior supervisory experience which includes conducting coaching and performance evaluations.
Professional level human resources experience in compensation may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree requirement but not for the 8 years of specific experience or supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education compensation experience 4 years of prior supervisory experience which includes conducting coaching and performance evaluations. WorldatWork Certification Certification from a professional HR Association (PHR, SPHR, IPMA,) State of Colorado job evaluation certification Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Science Expert level experience working with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and running queries in Access or other systems such as Tableau Experience running reports in Human Capital Management (HCM) and Central Information Warehouse (CIW) or comparable system Experience in developing and delivering training on compensation practices
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical thinking skills, quantitative analysis, creative problem solving, and the ability to be flexible and work well in a time-critical, complex environment with many competing priorities Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives for a timely and successful conclusion Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to compensation challenges Excellent time management skills and organization to detail Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

Anticipated Salary Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $110,000 - $150,000 annually.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
