Regular/contract instructors participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advance of the visions, missions and values of the college and District. This position may include a combination of day and evening assignments, large lectures and small seminars, and is being offered by a college strongly committed to the “open door” concept serving a diverse student population. Instructors will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract. Master's in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education OR
Bachelor's in any of the above AND
Master's in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies, or family and consumer studies OR

- Teaching and/or administrative experience in an early childhood program.
- Adult learner teaching or training experience in the areas of child development theory and curriculum.
- Ability and willingness to seek outside funding sources and prepare funding proposals for Child Development projects and instruction.
- Ability and willingness to integrate Child Development instructional program with the Child Development Center.
- Applicants must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
