Job Description:

Program Delivery

Plan, organize, schedule, and conduct a variety of program activities and events.
Serve in a training role for volunteer leaders by providing them with program ideas, materials, and resources.
Teach groups of adults and youth utilizing prepared curricula. Prepare demonstration materials to aid in the presentation of classes.
Prepare and distribute 4-H marketing materials or displays and contribute to the Extension website and 4-H social media accounts. Attend local, district, and state activities and events when appropriate.
Help maintain existing members and volunteers; and recruit new members and volunteers making all reasonable efforts to reach underserved and underrepresented audiences and meeting Affirmative Action Compliance Standards.

Plan and prepare lessons, materials, and events.
Aid in the implementation, planning, and set-up of various events and activities.
Work in collaboration with community organizations, the Advisory Committee members, and the 4-H membership to plan, design, and initiate needed programs in the county.
Serve as adult facilitator for the local 4-H County Council and as a liaison to the District Council.
Assist the 4-H Youth Development Agent in planning county and district events.

Assist adults and youth with enrollments and event registrations in 4-H Online.
Provide monthly contact records to the 4-H Youth Development Agent for state reporting requirements.
Observe club meetings and provide evaluative reports to the 4-H Youth Development Agent.

Travels according to 4-H Youth Development policy and as necessary to fulfill duties.
Travel may include transporting youth to county, district, and state events in compliance with the 4-H policies and procedures.

Other Job Functions

Performs other duties as assigned. Examples include but are not limited to supporting the Extension office as a team player by answering telephone calls when necessary, covering the front lobby as needed, distributing information to the public and to other Extension Agents, and other general office duties as needed to support the mission of UF/IFAS.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position for the purposes of travel to county, district and state events and other duties assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong written and oral communication skills, to include accuracy; attention to detail; creative writing and ability to write correspondence, publications, and press releases as required.
Experience working with diverse youth and adult audiences.
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area or an AA degree, with two years of relevant experience.
Ability to work with and instruct youth through innovative and non-formal methods.
Strong organizational, time-management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to interact with the public in a positive and effective manner and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Skill in planning a variety of programs for the target audiences.
Knowledge of county and state policies and procedures.
Knowledge of record management principles.
Knowledge of program financial management procedures.
Skill in the use of standard office equipment, standard office computer equipment and software applications.
Skill in analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
Ability to access, coordinate, and utilize county and community resources in the assigned area of discipline.
Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures established by the federal, state, county, and/or grant funding sources as applicable.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in applying and interpreting department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems.
