ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER - ONLINE GRADUATE AND EXECUTIVE EDUCATION

Regular, Non-Exempt, Market Range 8

The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a non-exempt Assistant Program Manager - ONLINE.  Reporting to the Program Manager-MSSCM Online, the Assistant Program Manager provides support in all academic and operational aspects for the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MS-SCM) program and other online programs in Graduate and Executive Education department of the Haslam College of Business.  Primary responsibilities include front-line program operations and delivery and direct support and service to prospective and enrolled students.

The position has responsibility for independently executing recruitment, admissions, and graduation processes, as well as providing wide-ranging support to a large, diverse student group expected to number 250-350.  Additional responsibilities include collecting data and interfacing with a 3rd party program delivery vendor.

Responsibilities:

PROGRAM OPERATIONS AND DELIVERY

    Coordinate, manage, and execute all processes and communications related to admission, orientation, academic progress, and graduation for all students in MS SCM program (250 – 350 students per semester) and Online MBA program (50 - 200 students per semester).Manage and execute all registration permissions and holds for three annual registration periods.Independently review applications and determine which students to admit to program.  Admitting approximately 50 new students per program three times per year. Track enrollment deposits and confirmations to ensure accuracy.  Compile and present data to Program Manager. Oversee admission to candidacy process and track graduation applications.Update and present three asynchronous orientation sessions per year for newly admitted students.Coordinate all planning and logistics for three annual on-campus Immersion events in collaboration with Program Manager, teaching faculty, and Career CoordinatorPlan and implement all student social engagement activities, including fostering community in the program's Virtual Student UnionResponsible for all communications with 3rd party program delivery vendor, including but not limited to processing all vendor NetID requests.Select and order apparel and other promotional items for student ambassadors and program graduates.
STUDENT SUPPORT AND SERVICE

    Serve as point of contact for diverse, online graduate student population.  Most students are adult, working professionals living all over the world who have more complex challenges than traditional students.Promptly troubleshoot and resolve wide range of issues experienced by diverse student population.  Use judgment to determine when to escalate an issue to Program Managers.Oversee Student Ambassador Program. Interview and select ambassadors, provide training and ongoing program maintenance.Facilitate webinars for prospective student recruitmentServe as main point of contact for students sponsored by employers, including overseeing all third-party billing communications and grade verification requests.
ACADEMIC ADVISING

    Serve as main point of contact for advising students on course selection, registration needs, and tracking academic progress. Oversee entire leave of absence and reinstatement process for the program, guiding students through the process and alternative academic progression options.
 Qualifications:

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in program/project management and experience in educational setting
Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree preferred 
  • Experience in higher education
  • 5+ Years of Business Experience
