Description - ExternalThe J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University seeks nominations and applications to fill the open position of Audio-Visual Engineer, Lead. Reporting to the College Technology Manager, this position works closely with the other members of the College’s Computer Technology Services team, students, faculty staff and College leadership.One of the largest business schools in the United States, Robinson educates more than 9,000 students online and across multiple physical campuses throughout the Atlanta region. Known for producing business leaders and innovators, the Robinson College and Georgia State have produced more of Georgia’s top executives with graduate degrees than any other school in the country.Expected Duties:
- Maintains and supports custom AV setups, and monitors classroom components before classes or special events, including in-class recording, video conferencing, and telepresence sessions, in addition to the standard classroom resources.Designs and installs all new AV systems for RCB. This includes engineering design, programming control systems, networking equipment, vendor management, and order processing.The primary point of contact for all event and special meetings AV requests. This includes setup, consultation with the customer, and managing the event as required.Primary lead in designing, implementing, and supporting critical and operational procedures for all AV technology at RCB locations. Documents systems configurations, Installations, and maintenance operations for classroom technology. Trains faculty and university staff in using the technology in the classroom for coursework. And special events.Manages AV and all AV Staff.Maintains the inventory of database or property control of PCs and Apple-based technology in the classrooms and offices. Perform other technical duties as assigned.Use great customer service skills with various clients.Use great collaboration skills.Performs other advanced-level classroom technology support duties as assigned.

Founded in 1913 in Atlanta, Georgia State University is the second-largest and one of four research institutions in the University System of Georgia. The Georgia State Panthers are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and compete in 16 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and volleyball. The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.
The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
