Founded in 1979, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an independent professional graduate school with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. Position Summary:

A forensic psychology faculty member is responsible for teaching, student advisement, research, professional service to the university, community, and administration over the course of the six-term academic year. Faculty teaching load is determined by the department chair based on department needs.

Principal Duties:

Teaching
The primary responsibility of a teaching faculty member is to share theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject with students and encourage direct application to the field of Forensic Counseling and Psychology.

·Teach 24 credit hours over six online terms (full year).

·Hold virtual office hours on a weekly basis.

·Remain current in field of study/teaching expertise and update course content to reflect knowledge updates.

·Complete Term Preparation for course teaching, including syllabus and course shell review, according to department requirements.

·Serve as course lead on specific courses, which includes reviewing course shells, selecting teaching materials, and updating curriculum as needed.

·Provide high quality instruction including frequent student engagement and advising, detailed and current curriculum, engaging discussion board activity, and using appropriate modes of multimodal education delivery.

·Assess student learning in accordance with the University’s practices and participate in academic program reviews

·Engaging in co-curricular activities such as colloquia, conference presentations, scholarship, and collaboration with colleagues.

·Commit to Best Practices in online teaching.

·Adhere to all policies in the Faculty Supplement and Faculty and Staff Handbook

Advising

·Maintain a student advisee load according to department needs.

·Spend time with advisees to provide mentorship on matters related to their academic, curricular, and career development.

·Assist the department chair in documenting student progress through the program.

·In collaboration with the department chair, develop and supervise individual Academic Development Plans (ADP) for advisees as needed.

Research

·Engage in professional scholarship activities including conference presentations and research for publication.

·Mentor and integrate students into research projects.

Service

·Actively maintain activities that further the practice of forensic psychology.

·Foster education of, and interest in, student service in the community.

·Engage in community service.

·Participate in departmental activities, including attendance at all faculty meetings, participating in the analysis of Student Learning Plan results, assisting in admissions activities, curriculum development, mentoring, and sponsoring student groups.

Position Qualifications:

·Doctoral degree in related discipline: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling, Clinical, or Forensic Psychology.

·Licensed as a psychologist in at least one U.S. state.

·Strong knowledge base in clinical work, assessment & intervention.

·Online teaching experience preferred.

·Intermediate competency with required technology (email, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet research, electronic library databases).

·Exemplary record of professional experience in clinical practice, a forensic setting, law enforcement, military, or government.

·Teach synchronous training seminar courses over a 3 semester/6 term period, which includes guidance through a capstone clinical competency exam and consultation on student’s practicum/internship experiences.

·Record of relevant research and scholarship.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $85,000-100,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
