Job Summary

Georgia Tech's Interdisciplinary Research Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEAS) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track research faculty position in data analytics to start January 31, 2023. The Research Scientist 1 position is intended to support the National AI Institute for Adult Learning and Online Education (AI-ALOE; aialoe.org). This job can be done remotely but requires intensive teamwork.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will be to design, develop, deploy and document software and data infrastructure for using AI to support large-scale personalized online learning. In particular, the candidate will work with the faculty and students across AI-ALOE to help develop this infrastructure and these technologies for data collection, storage, deidentification, sharing, analysis, and visualization. The candidate will also work with faculty and researchers at partner institutions to deploy and evaluate them.

Required Qualifications B.S. in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in AI and ML is needed, especially experience in large-scale data analytics in educational contexts. A demonstrated ability to write papers and proposals would help.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

The position requires skills in software development, project management, data collection and analysis, documentation, as well as working with people. The position requires experience with Python, SQL, Linux, and JavaScript.

Expertise in machine learning and machine teaching will be a plus.
