Job Details
Execute the marketing of performances, exhibitions, screenings, public lectures, and events for all COFAC, including the academic departments and centers. Maintain and build positive relationships with members of the press, TU and external communities. Develop Public Relations plans for highlighted events. Actively seek out new opportunities for media coverage that expands COFAC’s reputation. Pitch story ideas to UMC, write press releases when necessary, and in collaboration with University Marketing and Communications, coordinate communication with members of the press. Individuals should have some autonomy on how they communicate with media. Provide strategic guidance and support of social media, including advising on content for personal channels. Oversee social media plans and promotions: create and aggregate social content in support of strategic goals. University Art + Culture guides: Work with UCS to create and manage direct mailing lists, help to collect images and copy, participate in copy submittal, proofing, executing bulk distribution management with UCS and some overrun and local delivery. Supervise contingent social media employee or Graduate Assistant when appropriate. Attend /participate in COFAC Leadership Team meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years of experience in Public Relations and Marketing or related fields, preferably with arts organizations
- Familiarity of design templates and online platforms
- Experience with media and advertising platforms
- Ability to manage, oversee and analyze social media marketing and communication channels
- Ability to work with Lucid Press, Mail Chimp, or other similar platforms
- Ability to make media purchases
- Basic graphic design skills
- Basic budget management
- Strong technical writing skills
