POSITION: GRANTS AND BUDGET SPECIALIST I

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Donor Relations Manager, works with grants Principal Investigators (Pis) and Project Directors (PDs) to, track budget balances and prepare budget and expense reports as required; also creates organizes, maintains, and updates files and records utilizing database and spreadsheet software. Assists in monitoring expenditures and reconciling accounts of all private gifts and grants, ensuring compliance with funding source and university guidelines; maintains an audit trail of documents and records; and provides superior customer service to internal and external customers. Works closely with the Director of Foundation Relations.

Qualifications: Requires an Associate’s degree in accounting, business or a related field and 1-3 years of related experience required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or related software is also required. Higher education work experience, extensive knowledge of OMB circulars and agency specific guidelines relating to grants and contracts are preferred. The equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Proficiency in basic budget principles, procedures and terminology required.
