The Ohio State University invites nominations and applications for an inspired and visionary leader to serve as the next Dean of the College of Nursing.

About Ohio State Nursing: The Ohio State University College of Nursing is one of the world’s finest institutions of nursing education and research and is consistently ranked among the top 10 nursing schools in the country.  From the development of its first curriculum in 1914, Ohio State Nursing has been steadfast in its commitment to providing a nursing education that makes a difference.  The College has a sizable and diverse faculty, with many preeminent in their fields, as well as alumni who are leaders serving with distinction across academic medicine and healthcare broadly both in this nation and beyond. The Ohio State difference is anchored by a collegial community of scholars, educators, staff, and clinicians who work at the top of their fields where internal collaborations and connections with a diverse body of talented students helps bring out the best in faculty and students alike.

About the Dean: Reporting to the EVP and Provost, the Dean is the chief administrative and academic officer of the College of Nursing.  The Dean must possess a detailed understanding of the current challenges in the field of nursing, as well as national and global healthcare, and be willing to work with state, regional, and national stakeholders, including professional practice and industry leaders, to address these challenges, advocate for the field of nursing, and forge relationships for future partnerships and innovation.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced, inclusive, and collaborative leader who is committed to guiding the College to the next level of excellence.  The Dean will be expected to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, educators, nursing practice leaders, industry representatives, and communities as partners to advance the University's research, teaching, engagement, and service missions.  The Dean will bring an understanding of, and a commitment to, increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the College.  The successful candidate will bring experience and/or the clear potential to represent the College articulately and compellingly to external constituencies, enhancing the visibility and impact of its work while increasing gifts, research funding, contracts, and other mission-aligned revenue.  Candidates must have an earned PhD and/or MSN and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Full Professor with tenure within the College of Nursing at Ohio State University.
