Administrative Specialist
Coastal Carolina University seeks applications for the position of Administrative Specialist for the Department of Computing Sciences.
Duties include, but are not limited to:· serving as departmental Administrative Specialist and liaison for Computing Sciences;· coordinates and performs fiscal management activities, monitors and maintains departmental budgets and accounting functions;· coordinates and performs personnel management activities;· interviews, trains, supervises, and mentors student workers and part-time employees;· prepares and oversees all hiring and salary paperwork for departmental personnel;
coordinates and tracks all departmental purchasing, maintains P-Card, serves as PCard liaison, and oversees purchasing of basic departmental supplies;· coordinates and over sees travel activities;· coordinates and tracks all departmental grant-related paperwork;· assists in planning, developing, and implementing academic advising, registration, orientation, recruitment and retention activities; and· performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two (2) years of related work experience. Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.

Administrative Specialist II (AA50/61121254/FTE-S00729P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 03. Salary range: $23,885.00 (minimum)- $34,042.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of related work experience. Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong typing and computer skills are required, including proficiency with various software packages (MS Word and Excel, email, internet, ability to learn Datatel); Must have good time management and office management skills and be able to work cooperatively with diverse groups. Must have personnel management skills (will train/supervise multiple part-time and student workers); must be able to maintain and track budgets; must be able to coordinate paperwork for student records, hiring, purchasing, travel and grant transactions. Must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students, parents, and the general public.
