Location   Augusta University - Our Health Sciences Campus: 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912 College/Department Information   The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine, and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide. Job Summary   Acts as primary contact and coordinator for the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. Has direct contact with administration including the Provost, Executive Vice Presidents, and Deans. Makes decisions which require a high degree of diplomacy. Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Responsibilities   Manage, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the Alpha Omega Alpha application process:

Manage the scheduling, preparation, and dissemination of all itineraries. Prepare and Distribute candidate evaluation packets to faculty, collect evaluations in a timely manner from the faculty members, and organize into electronic folders. Manage all food orders, room scheduling, and coordination of event details. Interact with candidates in a professional manner at all times. Be knowledgeable of AU/MCG programs to provide information to candidates as needed in a positive and professional manner.

Primary Point of Contact for Harrison Scholars Program:

Organize committee meetings with members. Prepare and distribute agendas. Prepare and maintain minutes of all meetings. Organize minutes of share drive/box account. Manage all food orders, room scheduling, and coordination of event details.

Manage reimbursement and travel processes for the Vice Dean: 

Process reimbursement requests from program personnel and students. Prepare and Submit check requests in a timely manner. Process travel authorization and expense statements for faculty

Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the division and is responsible for interpretation and explanation. Provide administrative support for key Academic Affairs committees such as the Curriculum Oversight Committee. Serve as liaison between division and institutional contacts as well as outside institutions and the general public. Perform all other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications   A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of progressively responsible administrative support experience. OR Associate degree and 5 years of directly applicable experience. OR High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of directly applicable experience. Preferred Qualifications   Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible administrative/management support experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities   Ability to maintain confidentiality. Detail-oriented. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Shift/Salary/Benefits   Shift: Days Mon-Fri
Pay Grade: 13 
Salary Minimum: $16.19 Midpoint: $21.85 
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
