Job Summary

The School of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a non-tenure track faculty position beginning May 1, 2023. Position is full-time and benefits eligible. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provide programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Bachelor of Science degree is granted in Health Sciences, Exercise Physiology, and Nursing. The graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN) as well as a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology (MS). A minor in Nutrition is also provided. The Nursing program is accredited by the CCNE. Faculty members are actively involved in research, service, scholarship, and professional development. Responsibilities

Position will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate Nursing program which will include lab, simulation, didactic and clinical experiences.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Teaching and Service - 100%
Teaches classes and meets assigned service obligations.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing; Must be able to obtain or hold an unencumbered Georgia RN license; Relocation to South Georgia/Valdosta area; Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship, and service; Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage that includes online teaching, both didactic and clinical nursing and mentoring nursing students; Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting with a healthcare team; A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.

Position Requires completion of VSU's Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker's Compensation.
