Job Details
Performs varied clerical duties for the office of Engaged Learning.
Essential DutiesWorks with outside agencies, vendors and donors to meet the needs of the position.
Composes and prepares routine correspondence, types memorandums, reports and other documents; may take dictation; prepares various forms as directed such as purchase requisitions,personnel requisitions, etc.
Schedules appointments, makes arrangements for conferences, meetings, and travel; maintains supervisor's calendar.
Opens the mail and assembles related material to be answered by the supervisor; answers routine correspondence.
Greets visitors, answers the telephone and provides information to callers/visitors or routes to appropriate person; places outgoing calls.
Researches, compiles and prepares statistical reports, requisitions and other documents.
Enters and retrieves data on personal computer for reports and correspondence; maintains confidentiality of data and information.
Maintains filing system; classifies and codes material for filing; prepares copies of correspondence or other printed matter.
Minimum QualificationsAssociate’s degree or equivalent education. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
Five years of experience or training at the college or university level in office administration, or an equivalent combination of training and secretarial experience.
Experience with personal computers utilizing integrated software packages that includes word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database management capabilities; excellent secretarial and administrative skills, accurate typing and data entry.
Ability to organize daily work procedures and perform duties under one’s own initiative with some supervisory guidance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with others.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in a higher education institutional setting.
