Call Center Representative

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) is the State’s college access and financial aid agency.  ISAC has an immediate opening for a Call Center Representative in our Deerfield Office. This position responds to inquiries from students and parents about the college-going process and from college financial aid staff about administering ISAC programs.  The person selected will be expected to provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate a positive and helpful attitude while promptly responding to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and explain financial aid and ISAC program procedures, as well as programs, products, and services available from the federal government.
• Develop and maintain current working knowledge of all ISAC-administered program rules, policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and statutes.
• Record the nature of all inquiries (telephone, written and electronic) and those requiring action.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 90 semester hours of college coursework in any field or a combination of education and work experience performing office, business, or customer service activities totaling two (2) years.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and investigative skills.
• Financial aid office experience (preferred).
