Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU) is seeking applicants for part-time faculty positions to provide clinical education at the University Eye Center of Ketchum Health located in Anaheim.
We are looking for expertise in the following areas:
- Pediatrics & Vision therapy
- Primary Care & Ocular disease
- Contact Lens
Qualified candidates would be expected to teach and mentor students in the Doctor of Optometry (OD) program during their clinical rotations. This position is for clinical teaching, in which you will supervise four to five student-interns while in clinic delivering eye and vision care. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of proper patient care, evidence based clinical practice and exceptional communication with the student-interns and patients. Additional responsibilities include evaluation of student performance and mentoring when applicable. The position is non-tenured.
- Part-time positions will be considered at one-half day to two days per week.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must have a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and be eligible for a California optometry license.
- Residency, Fellowship training, and/or advanced professional experience necessary.
- Preference will be given to applicants with an advanced degree.
