Position Summary:

Anne Arundel Community College is seeking a full-time Program Director for the Radiologic Technology Program (RAD) as defined by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT). A strong radiologic technology program director candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to teach introductory and upper college-level radiologic technology (RAD) students who are part of diverse student population. Experience in radiologic technology accreditation guidelines for quality assurance, regulations, proficiency testing, is required. Additionally, radiologic technology skills, and the ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment as well as excellence in oral, written and interpersonal communication skills is expected. The position includes extensive collaboration with local affiliated clinical sites to find placements for the RAD students as well as coordinating the clinical experience for the students. The position will require in state travel to affiliate clinical sites. Candidates should be committed to student-centered, outcomes-based education with experience incorporating multiple instructional strategies and the use of technology in teaching and learning. RAD courses to be instructed include lecture (including online), lab, and activity classes in the RAD program. The Program Director is expected to participate on committees in the department, school of health sciences, and the college. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:
• Present to the Assistant Dean recommendations concerning course offerings, maximum class size, length of class times, number of class sessions per week, faculty load and overload, etc. With input from the faculty, identify textbooks and instructional materials for RAD courses.
• Assist in the promotion, retention, evaluation and professional development of program faculty.
• Prepare a coordinated schedule of classes for program offerings for the fall, spring, and summer terms for the RAD Program.
• Assist in implementing appropriate program content for program handbooks, admission materials, web-page and the college catalog. Assist the SHS Admissions in recruiting program students including holding program Information Sessions.
• Review and revise the RAD curriculum as necessary to comply with JRCERT and industry standards.
• Develop, revise and maintain all course and program learning outcomes
• Adhere to all College, State and Federal Compliance Regulations.
• Serve as the chair of the RAD Advisory Committee and conduct at least one Advisory Committee meeting per academic year.
• Participate in state and national professional education activities to promote the program and maintain curriculum currency.
• Ensure the program and RAD Lab is in compliance with all required standards including but not limited to OSHA and/or Department of Health and Human Services and JRCERT standards.
• Develop and maintain a course and program map that provides evidence of meeting accreditation standards. Responsible for writing accreditation reports to include but not limited to annual reports and self-study reports. Prepare for JRCERT site visits and other required inspections

Teaching Duties and Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications"

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree but the selected candididate must enroll in a master's degree program upon hire to meet the JRCERT eligibility requirements for Program Director;
• Proficient at overseeing the daily program operations including budget planning, accreditation compliance and the assessment processes
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program with proficiency in didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction;
• Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising;
• Minimum of three years’ clinical experience in the field of Radiologic Technology
• Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography
• Demonstrate eligibility for a Maryland radiographer license which must be attained prior to starting the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree
• Two or more years of teaching at the college level
• Experience or knowledge of JCERT accreditation process for new or ongoing programs
• Experience or knowledge of ARRT certification examination process and application for Maryland Licensure
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in Spanish or another language
