Position Summary

Anne Arundel Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member to serve as the Program Director for the Radiologic Department as defined by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT). We are seeking an exceptional faculty member committed to the college’s philosophy that education serves the greater good by providing students access to a better life. A strong radiologic technology program director candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to teach introductory and upper college-level radiologic technology (RAD) students who are part of diverse student population. Experience in radiologic technology accreditation guidelines for quality assurance, regulations, proficiency testing, is required. Additionally, radiologic technology skills, and the ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment as well as excellence in oral, written and interpersonal communication skills is expected. The position includes extensive collaboration with local affiliated clinical sites to find placements for the RAD students as well as coordinating the clinical experience for the students. The position will require in state travel to affiliate clinical sites. Candidates should be committed to student-centered, outcomes-based education with experience incorporating multiple instructional strategies and the use of technology in teaching and learning. Teaching assignments are 15 faculty load hours per semester. Courses to be instructed include lecture (including online), lab, and activity classes in the RAD program. Full-time faculty are expected to participate on committees in the department, school of health sciences, and the college. Candidates should be committed to student-centered, outcomes-based education with experience incorporating multiple instructional strategies that engages the student, including the use of technology. Strong candidates will demonstrate knowledge of evidence based teaching practices, commitment to inclusive teaching practices, and application of these practices in a college classroom to help students succeed.

Duties
• Primary responsibilities:
• 30 faculty load hours Fall and Spring Terms
• Summer instruction/program administration
• 6 office hours per week during the fall and spring semesters
• Teaching and assessing student learning
• Student advising
• Recruiting and managing clinical/practicum affiliations
• Maintaining program accreditation
• Professional Development

In addition to a faculty member’s primary responsibilities, the exceptional candidate will also demonstrate commitment and experience in one or more of the following areas:

1. Mentoring students from target groups; new full-time faculty; part-time faculty

2. Designing, formatting and delivering curriculum for all learning modalities

3. Training and consulting for workforce initiatives (e.g., for public and corporate partners, etc.)

4. Developing and implementing community education and extended learning programs

5. Partnering with colleagues to enhance services to students and the community

6. Recruiting and marketing

7. Advising with expanded responsibilities

8. Devising retention strategies and activities

9. Strengthening relationships and collaborative activities including K-12 and baccalaureate-granting colleagues

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a master’s degree, or meets the JRCERT eligibility requirements for Program Director;
• Proficient at overseeing the daily program operations including budget planning, JRCERT accreditation compliance and the assessment processes,
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program with proficiency in didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction;
• Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising;
• Minimum of three years’ clinical experience in the field of Radiologic Technology
• Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
• Current Maryland radiographer license or demonstrated eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree;
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in Spanish or another language
Experience or knowledge of ARRT certification examination process and application for Maryland Licensure
