Position Summary

The Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C) will work primarily with the Special Education Coordinator,
the Psychologists, the Special Educators, and the Principals to ensure that students ages 18 to 21 with an Individual
Education Program (IEP) are represented at meetings, receive their counseling services, and are assessed as needed.

Will work in conjunction with stakeholders to ensure IEP's are compliant with the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Position duties will include:

1.Conduct consultation sessions with Special Education and Academic Teacher(s), the student, the parent/guardian,
other Related Service Providers, and/or the Special Education Coordinator as part of the student’s interdisciplinary IEP team.
2. Demonstrate the ability to use a wide range of formal and informal tools or measures to assess students’ behavioral and emotional functioning to participate in the development of a student’s IEP.
3.Maintain weekly contact with the Special Education Coordinator in regards to one’s schedule at the facilities.
4.Recommend if a student needs formal or informal assessments for their triennial IEP meeting and decide which
assessments to use.

Required Qualifications:


• Social Work License required;

• Master’s degree;

• Minimum two years’ experience working with computers, administration, and management skills;

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Passing the DPSCS background check is a required
