Position SummaryThe Department of Kinesiology at Michigan State University (www.educ.msu.edu/kin) is world renowned for research, teaching, and outreach in pediatric kinesiology. Housed in the College of Education, the department serves approximately 1,400 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students.
Description of duties
- Teach in all modes of delivery and at the undergraduate and graduate level in areas of expertise and department curricular need, with particular focus on the professional Master's of Athletic Training program.
- Recruit, advise, and mentor graduate students in the professional Master's of Athletic Training program.
- Perform activities required to maintain CAATE accreditation.
- Perform service as appropriate to the department, college, university, profession, and community.

Minimum RequirementsWe are seeking a Fixed-Term Instructor or Fixed-Term Assistant professor in Athletic Training. If chosen as an Assistant Professor, a doctorate degree (or equivalent terminal degree) will be required. If chosen as an Instructor, a master's degree will be required for the position.
Advanced degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Health Administration or equivalent program (i.e., Public Health, Sport Science, Health Leadership). Applicants must be a Board Certified (BOC) Athletic Training and be able to obtain athletic training licensure in the state of Michigan. The successful candidate must have experience teaching in a CAATE accredited Athletic Training program.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Coordinator of Clinical Education.
- Knowledge of CAATE accreditation practice and policies.
- Evidence of effective graduate student mentoring.
- Clinical practice experience.
