From its inception in 1892, ATSU has had a long tradition of inclusion. By capitalizing on local, regional, national and global community relationships, ATSU has mastered the concept of access and opportunity for culturally proficient faculty and administrators to explore their career interests and enrich the ATSU community as we reflect the communities we serve.

The Grants Analyst is a highly adaptable department-wide position reporting directly to the Senior Director of Sponsored Programs. The Grants Analyst provides expertise and support to all SP branches, particularly during seasonal surges as well as faculty and administrators. This position requires knowledge of state, federal, foundation and other research grant funding mechanisms, including pre- and post-award related functions and provides mentorship and support to team members.

The responsibilities of the Grant Analyst will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the grants management lifecycle (pre- through post-award) and ability to provide high-level, floating resources and professional service capacity to each SP branch during seasonal surges.
  • Research special topic areas of relevance to SP activities (e.g., health professions education, health care transformation, emerging trends, etc.), analyze literature, synthesize data, document/cite sources, and present findings to leadership for actionable use.
  • Research/analyze opportunities to enhance SP systems, activities, training materials, etc. in light of industry best practices and ATSU’s infrastructure.
  • Assist in retrieval/validation of data points critical to post-award reporting, department outcomes reporting, etc., as needed.

The Grants Analyst should have 2-3 years of experience in grants management and the following qualifications, skills, and accomplishments:

  • Be detailed oriented, yet also see the big picture.
  • Demonstrate keen interest in learning and synthesizing information for actionable use.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and staff/project management skills.
  • Buy-in for team-based approaches to service delivery (e.g., team writing, project co-management, group decision-making).
  • Strong deadline management and related organizational skills, including documentation of work deliverables.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google digital platforms (email, calendar, groups, etc.), and a grants management software.

Bachelor’s degree in business, education, history, health administration or other field requiring significant literature review and data analysis required. A master’s degree in complementary field and 2-3 years’ experience managing the sponsored project lifecycle within higher education is preferred.
