Audio Visual Technician (OPS)

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Audio-Visual Technician assists the Audio-Visual and Classroom Technology Engineer in configuring, installing, monitoring, and maintaining advanced audiovisual infrastructure systems. These advanced audiovisual systems primarily exist in classrooms, labs, and meeting rooms, but may also be set up specially for live events in a variety of locations. The Technician also participates in providing support to users of these systems, particularly instructors and meeting facilitators.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs and sets up equipment in classrooms and conference rooms.
  • Is responsible for general maintenance of equipment including filter changes for projectors, and alignment of projectors.
  • Logs and tracks all services in ITSM.
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains audio and video equipment for live events.
  • Responds to service requests for troubleshooting technology installed in classrooms.
  • Maintains the lectern equipment including but not limited to imaging the PC, swapping computers, Crestron equipment, or peripherals.
  • Completes nightly QA checks on classroom technology. Maintains records of maintenance performed and completed.
  • Ensures that all classroom technology equipment is entered in Asset Management software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to test audio equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
  • Experience using various digital signage solutions
  • Experience setting up and operating audio equipment for live events
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic PC operations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Vocational or technical training or degree
  • In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Avixa CTS Certification
  • Crestron P-101 Certification

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute §435.04.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is Full-Time OPS (temporary). The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required. Travel between campus locations may be required.

TARGET HIRING PAY: $19.00/hr.
