Full-time Faculty Positions

Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University seeks to fill a full-time non-tenure track faculty position for the prelicensure programs. This 10-month, non-tenure track, full-time position will be at the rank of Instructor/Professional Lecturer, depending on qualification. The start date will be September 1, 2023, for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Responsibilities will include providing didactic and clinical instruction to nursing students in the BSN and/or Master’s Entry into Nursing Practice program in the area of medical-surgical/critical care nursing. Approximately 60% of teaching responsibility will be for clinical instruction. The faculty member will engage in course development, updating and submission of course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, research and development of resources for instruction, and utilization and development of instructional design methods that include technology (e.g., simulation). In addition, the faculty member will have an opportunity to serve as lead faculty for main courses and mentor adjunct faculty. Further, the faculty member will advise students, provide support for departmental and programmatic initiatives, and serve on the school committees.

DePaul's School of Nursing offers BSN, Master’s Entry into Nursing Practice, MSN-specialty, RN-MSN (online), DNP, and Nurse Practitioner tracks and certificates. Nursing Programs emphasize community engagement, service learning in vulnerable communities, social justice and excellent safe quality nursing care. Students are in clinical sites at over 50 health care institutions.

The College of Science and Health is the third largest college at DePaul, enrolling over 3,000 students. The college includes programs in mathematics, psychology, physics and astrophysics, environmental science and studies, chemistry and biochemistry, biology, neuroscience, health sciences and nursing. Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in nursing required.
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent of three years clinical experience in nursing required.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Illinois or eligibility for same with application in process required.
  • Expertise in medical-surgical nursing/critical care nursing will be the primary focus.
  • Experience in teaching pre-licensure program preferred.
