The purpose of this posting is to expand our pool of Lecturers available to teach courses for the School of Education & Human Development. Lecturers selected from this pool will become vital members of the School's innovative education programs. The School of Education & Human Development will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for future appointments to temporary, part-time, non-tenure-track positions. Lecturers are generally limited to two courses per term. This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal. This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remain continuously active through October 31, 2023—at that point, all applications will be cleared from the pool. You are welcome to reapply to the new posting after that date.
Teaching assignments may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses offered each term, the required number of student enrollments in your tentatively scheduled course(s), and budget availability. Thus, we cannot guarantee that you will teach particular courses or that you will actually teach in a given term. Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $4,750, for a fully-enrolled 3-credit course. Please note that under enrolled courses may be canceled and pay is prorated for under enrolled courses that have not been canceled.
This part-time appointment is not eligible for group health, life insurance, and retirement benefits.
As of January 1, 2021, Lecturer positions will accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours per hour worked with a maximum accrual of 48 hours per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal. If your appointment in this position continues, you will be notified in writing each term.

If the candidate does not have a terminal degree, the candidate must have a M.A. or M.S. AND a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in the field related to the course documented on the CV. Experience with culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities, knowledge of urban educational community issues, and an interest in collaborating with a variety of constituencies in an urban environment. Proficient with basic technology (e.g. MS Office)
