With over 400 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialties, our department is one of the largest in the Stanford University School of Medicine. We offer broad-based training in general pediatrics, critical care and pediatric subspecialties within a variety of ambulatory, inpatient and community settings. Integrated with our educational activities, these programs provide hands-on learning to equip our graduates with the skills they'll need as future advocates of children's health.

At this time, the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital/Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting a Clinician Educator as a(n) Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Stanford University-Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is currently recruiting experienced full-time, or part-time Pediatric Hospitalists to cover Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford as well as community hospitals in the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area. The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is the one of the fastest growing pediatric Divisions at Stanford University. We are not only looking to positively impact children’s health in Palo Alto, but also the region. We have 70+ physicians managing sick children throughout 6 different hospitals in the area. When we are not active with patient care, our Hospitalists hold many leadership roles throughout various hospital committees to help ensure we are providing safe and excellent clinical and patient-centered care

Your responsibilities will include:

We offer diverse clinical experiences ranging from covering patients in the NICU, PICU, Acute Care, ED, Nursery, and the L&D room. Depending on your clinical preference, we will likely have a program that will fit your wants. Our programs are located in the Palo Alto, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Watsonville, Pleasanton, and Salinas Valley areas. Day and night time positions are available.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

-Active or able to apply for a California medical license

-Experience and comfort with the care of hospitalized pediatric patients

-Good teamwork and communication skills

-Interest in personal faculty development in various areas such as quality improvement, evidence based care, and medical education along with opportunities to be engaged both local and nationally.

-Recent delivery room experience (dependent on clinical position)

-Experience with quality improvement work and/or projects (preferred but not required)
