Description:The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for a full time associate or assistant professor position. The Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science programs with a major in nursing have three tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The Bachelor of Science program with a major in nursing began in fall 2021. The School also offers a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide instruction to Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Nursing Practice students in Nursing and Cardiovascular Sciences and Perfusion Medicine
- Demonstrate competence in teaching
- Create innovative curricula utilizing experiential pedagogies and adult learning theory
- Engage in community service above and beyond faculty requirements
- Engage in lifelong learning as evidenced by participation in professional and faculty development
- Evidence of progressive participation and leadership of national/international professional organizations
- Maintain clinical/professional experience in the field of accreditation of undergraduate and graduate-level programs, namely Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Accreditation Committee-Perfusion Education (AC-PE)

Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Candidates must have a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level required
- Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience required
- Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, leadership and time management skills
- Outstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Peer reviewed national/international presentations, publications
