Requirements:•M.A. in Sociology or related field, PhD preferred. •Demonstrate ability to teach intermediate level Sociology courses •Minimum two years teaching experience at higher education level.
•Teach SOC 301 – Field Research at Orange campus, hold office hours, and support college policies and procedures. oSOC 305 - An introduction to field research in naturally occurring settings. Students acquire skills in participant observation and interviewing with emphasis on the construction of field notes. Ethics of field research, entree to the field site, maintenance of the research relationship, and closure are considered through classroom discussion and activity in selected field sites. Analysis of data is conducted, preparing students to go on to the next step of a finished paper in senior thesis. This course may be repeated for credit.
