Job Summary:

Provides quality parallel instruction in biology and chemistry, as well as all other areas of proficiency.

Essential Functions:

Provide one-on-one and small group parallel instruction/assistance in biology and chemistry to TRIO-Student Support Services participantsDevelop and utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles and needs of studentsMonitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress and competency attainmentAdhere to all Department of Education rules and regulationsSubmit related reports as requiredPerform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry or Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with endorsement in Biology or Chemistry.Demonstrated communication and human relations skills.Ability to work effectively with students with a wide variety of learning styles and abilities .Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.

Desired Qualifications:

Post-secondary teaching experience.Experience in curriculum design and/or implementation.

Work Schedule:

15-20 hours each week; daytime hours; schedule to be determined.
