SALARY:
$69,200-$89,900 + per year, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary PurposeThis position assists in the management of the day-to-day operations within the office for the Montana campus, as well as the other RVU campuses and programs equally for institution-wide consistency, providing critical support to students, faculty, staff, and third-party agencies and addressing questions or concerns with a solution-based approach. The Assistant Registrar is expected to handle multiple responsibilities, solve complex problems, and ensure that systems and processes meet service expectations.
Essential Job Functions- Supervise the Coordinator of Student Records and ensure accuracy and compliance throughout procedures and outcomes.
- Help build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Exercise independent judgment in addressing the daily concerns of staff, students, and faculty according to area of specialization.
- Observe and evaluate operations, procedures, and activities, and recommend improvements and modifications to help maintain smooth operation of daily functions.
- Actively participate in the design, implementation, and development of technology related applications that enhance services for the Office of the Registrar; identify and troubleshoot IT system related issues that impact student records.
- Interpret and effectively communicate regarding the gathering and maintenance of student records in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and practices relates to area of specialization.
- Resolve error report resolutions in an efficient manner.
- Assist the Registrar in maintaining the integrity of student records that include, but are not limited to, registration, grade processing, graduation, and transcript processing.
- Work closely with the Financial Aid department to ensure accurate and timely government reporting and aid disbursement.
- Assist staff and faculty as needed with various matters regarding course building, student registration, roster reconciliation and data accuracy.
- Maintain productive relationship and provide assistance in a variety of customer service and advisement functions to students, internal departments, external agencies, and community members.
- Serve as the liaison to internal and external stakeholders related to area of specialization.
- Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulation, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
- Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA.
- Outstanding organization and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and comfort dealing with SIS, SAAS, and innovative technology.
- Ability to work with high level of confidential material with an attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve innovatively.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

- Bachelor's Degree in business, communications, information systems, or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in an office leadership role
- 3 years of experience in a Registrar’s Office with a thorough understanding of Student Information Systems and related applications, academic policies and processes, FERPA, and federal guidelines affecting higher education
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Master's Degree in higher education administration or related field
- At least 1 year of leadership experience in a Registrar’s Office with a thorough understanding of Student Information Systems and related applications, academic policies and processes, FERPA, and federal guidelines effecting higher education
- 3 years of experience in higher education, enrollment management, or student services
- Experience in a health science university
