Organizational Unit Overview:The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is seeking a full- time faculty member and Division Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) at the Associate to Full Professor rank tenure track or Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor title as fixed-term appointments are available. The department supports a four-year, fully accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology and provides education for medical students on a continual basis.
The mission of the Department of OB GYN encompasses the triad of academic medicine: leadership in patient care, teaching of medical students and resident physicians, and the pursuit of clinical and basic science research. The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine currently includes 4 sub-specialty physicians, 1 nurse, 8 sonographers and a genetic counselor.

Provide excellent inpatient and outpatient care as well as teach residents and medical students and maintaining an active research portfolio is encouraged.
The Director will oversee inpatient and outpatient care operations including 4 other MFM faculty, 1 genetic counselor and 8 sonographers. The Director will set goals and objectives for the MFM Division consistent with the department and health system vision and mission as well as execute regional strategic initiatives.
Initiate and monitor research activities by members of the MFM Division.
Maintain and expand the clinical, research and teaching capacity of the Division. Development of a MFM fellowship is strongly encouraged.Render mentorship to MFM clinicians and manage the MFM physician schedules, while meeting all clinical and academic obligations.Develop and maintain clinical protocols for patient care optimizing care value and patient safety.
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree, be eligible for practice in the State of North Carolina by the time of employment and qualify for medical staff privileges at ECU Health Medical Center. Candidates must also be board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with sub-specialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
NC Medical License
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :Ideal candidates will have previous leadership experience and a track record of scholarly publications and research presentations.
