Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, human services, business, engineering, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.Two years’ experience working with a diverse audience.Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external partners; plan, organize, and implement programs and outreach services; and provide recruitment tracking data to ensure quality.Ability to travel to off-site campuses and locations.Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.Ability to carry out equity initiatives in partnership with external and internal partners.Commitment to the community college "open door" philosophy and the comprehensive community college concept.Willingness to work day, evening, weekends, and at unconventional times.

Primary Functions of Position

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Outreach Coordinator will travel throughout the county and region to promote awareness of the opportunities for good paying jobs with benefits and advancement in our region. The coordinator will be focused on outreach to underserved populations in their service area. The disparities existing in our region related to job obtainment are clear. In order to close the equity gap underserved populations must be educated on the opportunities for advancement in the Supply Chain and Logistics sector. Rapid job growth in our region is occurring in positions related to strengthening the supply chain logistics. Many underserved populations in our region are not aware of the vast opportunities for good jobs in the sector. The (DEI) Outreach Coordinator will plan awareness events to educate the community on these types of opportunities and will travel to community hubs to provide outreach and recruitment for community members with an intense focus on outreach to underserved communities. The recruiter is responsible for helping individuals interested in Supply Chain Logistics define their career aspirations and identifying community college programs and/or training to meet those aspirations and achieve their educational and career goals. The (DEI) Outreach Coordinator will assist individuals in making informed decisions regarding career and educational plans in preparation for success in post-secondary education and training.

Essential Duties:

The DEI Outreach Coordinator works cooperatively with other DEI Outreach Coordinators, Alliance Advisors faculty and staff in the following areas:

    Provide career exploration, planning, and development guidance and college advisement to a diverse audience in the area of Supply Chain Logistics.Maintain quality partnerships with secondary school personnel, community resource centers and leaders in community who advocate for underserved populations.Engage perspective students, community members, parents, employers, and other regional stakeholders with information sessions related to college training and program opportunities; participate in community outreach events to build relationship in the community especially focusing on underserved communities.Create a routine schedule of outreach stops where individuals can come and learn more about job opportunities in the region and ways to get the training they need to obtain these jobs. Outreach stops will include regular visits to community sites that provide services for underserved populations.Maintain current knowledge of enrollment matters and job opportunities as it relates to Supply Chain Logistics training and education opportunities as well as the job outlooks for positions within that field for traditional and non-traditional students, as well as College and Career Promise students and Early College High School students.Conduct recruiting sessions with prospective students.Maintain accurate and adequate prospective student information to support continuous outreach to individual who express an interest in these job opportunities.Maintain quality partnerships with regional business and industry leaders to promote career awareness opportunities with our industry partners. Coordinate regional career awareness events in conjunction with other DEI Outreach Coordinators to promote the vast opportunities for jobs in our region as it relates to Supply Chain Logistics.Assist with promoting regional Career Fairs with a focus on recruiting underserved individuals to attend such events.Work in collaboration with other DEI Outreach Coordinators and staff to execute initiatives to support the CCWDA-SENC.Participate in team meetings and professional development activities with the Alliance team.Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Services.
