Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Research Assistant - (Research & Development Innovation Assistant) within UCD School of Chemistry - Centre for BioNano Interactions (CBNI).
The Centre for BioNano Interactions (CBNI) is a leading European Centre for BioNano Interaction science, and draws together specialists from its Universities, Institutes, and companies. The centre is a multi- disciplinary platform for nanosafety, nanobiology and nanomedicine, and is pioneering many of the new techniques and approaches in the arena. CBNI seeks to set standards through commitment to excellence in research and innovation, blended with caution and attention to detail in science, and public dissemination.
The Centre requires a full-time research assistant (post title- Research & Development Innovation Officer assistant). This individual will have expertise and research experience in any relevant arena of physiochemical, chemical and biophysical, engineering or related fields, especially applicable to the synthesis and characterisation of complex bionanoparticles, and their interaction in a biological environment. It would be an advantage if the candidate were familiar with advanced analytical and biophysical methods involving protein-protein and other bimolecular interactions. It is also desirable, but not essential, that candidates have experience in working with various biotechnological separation and analysis technologies, and many of the applications involve studies in complex biological milieu. The candidates will have expertise that fits into the main research themes of the CALIN Operation and CBNI and a willingness to work at the interface between nanoscience and biology.
The CALIN project is part-funded by the ERDF through the Ireland Wales Programme 2014-2020.
Salary Range: 27,380 - 36,786 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
