About the College/Unit/Department:

The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is one of the fastest growing programs at UGA and one of the fastest growing public colleges of engineering in the nation. Since our founding in 2012, enrollment in the College of Engineering has grown to over 2,400 students. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in biochemical engineering, biomolecular engineering, bioprocess engineering, industrial microbiology or a related field.

Position Summary:

The School of Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure-track lecturer position to begin August 2023. We seek highly qualified applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to teach at the graduate level.

The School of Chemical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering is partnering with the Beijing University of Chemical Technology to offer the Master’s of Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing in Beijing, China. In addition to teaching graduate-level courses, the successful candidate will also serve as the graduate director for the program. This position is based in Beijing, China.

Additional Requirements:

Must be fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification:

Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of relevant industry experience and/or 3-5 years’ experience teaching core courses in a biomanufacturing or biotechnology degree program. Established record of teaching lecture-based courses and laboratory courses in unit operations, fermentation, synthetic biology, mass transport or bioprocess engineering is preferred. Other areas of biochemical engineering relevant to the mission of the school will also be considered.
