Knox College invites applications for the full-time, 10-month position of Administrative Assistant.

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to two departments in the Division
of Student Development: Intercultural Life and the Kleine Center for Community Service. The administrative

assistant will serve as point of contact for operational and administrative matters, internal and external
constituencies; maintain current knowledge of appropriate College and academic policies,
processes, and procedures.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for students with questions and needs
    concerning these two departments
  • Assists with scheduling appointments
  • Receive and respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, students parents, and community partners and direct to
    appropriate individual(s) when necessary
  • Handle daily administrative assistant duties including answering the phone, email correspondence, calendars, filing, maintain files electronically and
    hard copy, and submit payables


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of three years progressively responsible experience as an
    administrative assistant or executive assistant
  • Possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and utilization of Google.
  • Must be able to work independently in addition to collaboratively with all members of the Division of Student
    Development in providing service to faculty, staff, students and parents.
  • The successful candidate will be able to take the initiative to explore options, recommend solutions to
    common and uncommon situations that arise and follow up to be certain appropriate action
    has been taken
  • Must possess well developed organizational skills and interpersonal relations
    skills.
