The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) proudly announced its search for the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (SVC).  This is an outstanding opportunity for an innovative, collaborative, and people-centered leader who will advance the academic mission of excellence by developing new academic programs (both on-campus and online), expanding partnerships, and promoting the integration of academic technologies and technology-based learning modalities that support UMC’s strategic priorities.

Located in the beautiful college town of Crookston, UMC is one of the five campuses in the University of Minnesota system. UMC offers a unique learning environment providing personal attention and mentorship to develop leaders, lifelong learners, and engaged citizens. UMC has received national recognition for the value of its education and retained its #1 status as a public Midwest Regional College in U.S. News and World Report’s 2022-2023 rankings.

Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the SVC is an active member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet and the ranking executive officer in the Chancellor’s absence who will serve as the chief academic officer and provide overall leadership for academic affairs.

The successful candidate will possess experience leading, negotiating, and managing with a diverse contract faculty,  developing effective strategies to build and support academic and student success initiatives, and demonstrating success in leading and managing change.  A doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited university is required, as is five or more years of appropriate university administrative experience. Experience working for a land-grant and public institution, including rural and regional campuses, is preferred.
