Job Summary

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research area is open and an applicant's qualifications are more important than the specific area of expertise. Areas of priority include research investigating empirically-supported psychotherapy or behavioral interventions for populations with relevance to clinical psychology or behavioral medicine. We have specific interest in investigators whose work focuses on historically excluded racial and ethnic populations. The applicant must have a PhD in Clinical Psychology (or related field) and be licensed or license eligible.
The mission of the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder is to strive for excellence in research, training of graduate students, and teaching of undergraduates. The selected applicant will have a record of independent research and be expected to develop and maintain a strong extramurally-funded research program, as well as contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate training mission, including an interest in practicum supervision.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Who We Are

The University has outstanding resources for clinical research, including a dedicated on-site clinic, clinical research space, a new 2500 sq. foot neuroimaging facility, and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in the Anschutz Medical Campus and other programs and research institutes (the Institute of Cognitive Science, the Institute for Behavioral Genetics, the Institute of Behavioral Science, and the Renée Crowne Wellness Institute).
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has roughly 40 tenure track faculty. We offer separate bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience to 27,000+ undergraduates and PhDs in 5 specialty areas (Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics; Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Psychology; and Social Psychology). We encourage cutting edge and collaborative research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, while maintaining a firm footing in psychology and neuroscience.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Appointees will participate in the research and teaching missions of the Department and contribute service to the Department, University, and profession. This will include developing an externally funded, innovative, and impactful research program.
  • Your normal classroom teaching assignments will be in accord with Department policy. Faculty who are grant active teach two courses per academic year (one undergraduate and one graduate course). The specific courses and course load will be determined in consultation with the Department Chair. You will also be expected to supervise independent student research at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

What You Should Know

  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to align with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
