Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College, Columbia University is the first and largest graduate school of education in the United States and is also perennially ranked among the nation's best. The College is committed to a vision of education writ large, offering more than 80 programs in the areas of health, education, leadership, and psychology.

The overall focus of the position is to create and disseminate strategic, high-quality communications throughout the Admissions funnel that successfully convert prospects to applicants to students. Reporting to the Associate Director of Enrollment for Communications and Data Management, the position will be the primary writer for the Enrollment Services division, responsible for executing strategic communications plans. The position will collaborate closely with the various offices within the Enrollment Services division -- Admission, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Enrollment Marketing -- as well as the Office of External Affairs and the TC Website team.

Responsibilities include:

• Create, manage, and provide analysis of email marketing campaigns across all segments of the enrollment funnel: inquiry, applicant, admitted students, deposits, and enrolled students.
• Update and create original content on the Enrollment Management website and blog.
• Liaise with the office of Digital Campus Infrastructure for technical support.
• Conduct research and interview faculty, alumni, administrators, students, and others as needed to inform content.
• Draft key messages and positioning statements to support the greater communications efforts of the College.
• Create Content and manage Admission-focused social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, etc.
• Schedule and maintain a social media content calendar using Sprout Social and lead monthly meetings, including advising a small team of work-study students to support content creation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution; major in journalism, English, media, communications, or literature strongly preferred.
• One to three years of experience in a communications environment. Special consideration will be given to communications professionals from higher education.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Experience with email marketing software and CRM tools. (Slate is strongly preferred.)
• Experience with web content management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in content marketing and measurement.
• Demonstrated interest in learning new processes, systems, and technologies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team settings.
• Must be proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and a strong critical thinker and problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Slate CRM.
• Experience with HTML, basic CSS, and digital design.
• Experience with design software (InDesign, Canva, etc.)
• Experience using social media management tools (Sprout Social, Hoot Suite, etc.)
• Experience with emerging social media/industry trends (TikTok, IG Reels, etc.)
• Experience working in academic institutions, particularly with faculty and other key stakeholders.
• Master's degree in research and writing intensive program.
• An understanding of the core principles of marketing, recruiting, admissions, and financial aid.
