Gill St. Bernard’s School, a distinguished, non-sectarian, coeducational, independent day school serving students in prekindergarten through grade twelve set on a bucolic 200-acre campus in Gladstone, New Jersey, seeks a Director of Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications. The Director reports to the Head of School and serves as a key member of the senior administrative team. As the leader and chief strategist for the admission, enrollment management, financial aid, and communications teams, the Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the school's visibility, vibrancy, stability, and diversity. The Director serves as a financial aid officer, communications officer, and senior administrator who provides support and structure for the Admission and Communication Teams and for GSB colleagues, including the Head of School.

Job Summary
The Director is responsible for the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of an academically talented, diverse, and mission appropriate student body. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding collaborative, communication, organizational,
leadership, and interpersonal skills. This person will also bring a strong work ethic, a passion for working with students and families, and a demonstrated commitment to the
school's mission of preparing students academically, socially, and ethically for college and a meaningful life.

Additional Responsibilities
• Collaborates with the Head of School and Chief Financial Officer to bring strategic and operational leadership to the school’s admission, enrollment management, financial aid, communications, marketing, and institutional research and planning programs. Updates the Board of Trustees regularly on strategic planning and progress on goals.
• Leads an admission and enrollment process grounded in deep personalization.
• Educates and engages faculty and staff in support of a school-wide enrollment management program.
• Demonstrates both an abiding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to infuse the school's admission program with these values.
• Designs and coordinates enrollment management processes and directs the admission, financial aid, and communications processes, systems, and staff.

• Formulates an annual Admission and Enrollment Action Plan with measurable goals and objectives.
• Works closely with the admission team, faculty, and administrators to develop and execute retention strategies for current students.
• Leads and supports the communications team in creating, designing, and producing demonstrably effective media, including website, social media, handbooks, procedural
manuals, and marketing strategies.
• Is professional, ethical, transparent, collegial, and respectful of confidentiality.
• Thrives in working with diverse student and adult populations.
• Stays abreast of NAIS, NJAIS, and other resources for planning and gathering comparative data on competitor schools.

Applying for the Position
Strong candidates should possess a minimum of five years of admission, enrollment,
marketing, and financial aid experience in an independent school or college;
demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; embrace the school's
mission; and be enthusiastic about working with and serving students and families in
a PK-12 independent day school setting. Candidates should possess superior
communication and public relations skills (both written and spoken); be facile with
data; be a strategic thinker and planner; possess superior interpersonal,
organizational, and managerial skills; and display high energy, optimism, flexibility,
personal warmth, and good humor. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s
degree is preferred. Experience and familiarity with Blackbaud is a plus., Word, and
Excel and be self-motivated and willing to work beyond traditional office hours,
including some evenings and weekends.
