  • Email Me Similar JobsEmail Me This JobROLE:The Campus Safety Officer position reports to the Director of Campus Safety, with daily supervision by the Associate Director of Campus Safety. This position is part-time and normally works 24-hours per week on a rotation schedule with evenings, weekends and holidays required.


    The Campus Safety Officer conducts heavy foot and vehicle (utility cart) patrol to provide protection of life and property for the campus community. Responds to service calls issued via radio and telephone dispatch. Assists students, faculty, staff and visitors as needed and represents the University in a positive and professional manner by providing timely and excellent customer service. As necessary, determines medical and mental health needs, administers first aid and summons additional medical and mental health assistance as required. Coordinates with medical and law enforcement responders when a higher level of care is needed. Updates daily activity logs as needed and in a timely manner; completes written incident and investigative reports in a timely, clear and well-written manner. The Campus Safety Officer conducts investigations of reported crimes, traffic accidents and other incidents occurring within the jurisdictional boundaries of the University. Enforces parking regulations per the California Vehicle Code. Collaborate with other University departments (i.e. Resident Life, Athletics, Wellness Center, etc.) during emergency and non- emergency situations. Campus Safety Officers may be required to work shifts assigned to one of the University's gatehouses.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalency required. Previous related security/safety or law enforcement experience highly desired. First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, as well as valid guard card issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs required.
