Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed to complete complex tasks.
- Professional communication skills to work with other offices across campus.
- Understanding of and experience using relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server).
- Experience working with large and complex data sets.
- Organization and time management skills needed to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Willingness to develop new knowledge, skills, and abilities in a changing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data management and data warehousing.
- Experience with educational data and reporting at the state, regional, or federal level.
- Experience of higher education student information systems (e.g., Banner)
- Experience using Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
- Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research/Chief Data Management Officer, you will consult with functional and academic offices to identify their data and reporting needs. Once identified, you will work with other members of the Office of Institutional Research staff to coordinate the transformation, storage, and management of the data.
Job Duties:- Consult with functional and academic offices to identify data sources and reporting needs.
- Work with subject matter experts to document metadata for data systems, elements, and reports.
- Translate functional and academic data needs to technical specifications.
- Assist with the design and creation of databases to store and manage information.
- Assist with data cleaning, transformation, storage, and validation.
- Identify data quality metrics and conduct regular data quality audits.
- Assist with the creation of data extracts and dashboards to support reporting requirements.
- Recommend improvements to data management policies and standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other offices on campus.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of procedural documentation.
- Perform other duties related to data management and institutional research as assigned.
