Job Details
The Chicago Regional Admission Coordinator will manage all aspects regarding the recruitment of prospective students (both freshmen and transfer) to SIUE from Chicago, the surrounding Chicago metropolitan area and northern Illinois region. The Admissions Coordinator will oversee all aspects of planned recruitment efforts maximizing matriculation of students from the Chicago and surrounding areas with direction from the Associate Director of Admissions and the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, based on the goals and vision of the institution.
Duties for the Chicago Regional Admissions Coordinator will include:
- Work to inform prospective students of the educational opportunities available to them at SIUE by advising and counseling them and their families by representing SIUE at various college day/night programs as well as area high school and community college visits.
-Communicate with various academic and administrative units at the Edwardsville campus.
-Interact and build relationships with area high school and community college counselors and making presentations as requested.
-Manage all contacts with students and families, assist with daily calls to the Office of Admissions and communications with various units on the SIUE campus; and help with the review and processing of applications (at various times throughout the year) for all terms.
-Assist with visit programs, new student programs, and training for staff within the regional office.
The Admission Coordinator will also assist with various administrative and clerical tasks such as periodic assessment reports, maintaining unit webpages, proofing correspondence, and social media updates. Please note, this position will be based in the Chicago area.
The professional responsibilities of this position may necessitate evening hours and occasional weekend hours. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the recruitment needs of the University.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:-Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as organization and time management skills.
-Demonstrated positive work ethic and exceptional interpersonal and counseling skills.
-Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
-Understand and adhere to the Statement of Practices and Courtesies for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), as well as both the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) and the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC).
-Must maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.
