Position Overview

Under the direction of the Dean of Learning Innovation, provide Subject Matter Expertise to develop program outcomes, aligned course competencies, project based assessments for a UX/UI online program. The subject matter expert/curriculum developer will work with our development team to develop curriculum that includes (but is not limited to) the following:

    Clear, measurable competenicess related to the industry skills and knowledge necessary to practically apply said concepts in the workforce.Development of program outcomes, scaffolded competencies, and a learning plan.May include Instructional content including:
      LessonsAssignmentsDiscussion area activitiesQualitative and quantitative assessmentsAny additional resources deemed appropriate and necessary
    Curation of third party content, including but not limited to open education resources or external content vendors.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Deep knowledge and understanding of standards and procedures in the chosen subject area(s)Experience in course or program curriculum writing and development.Skilled in written communication in the chosen subject area(s).Experience teaching or presenting concepts to adult learners.Ability to follow client guidelines and specifications, which may change throughout the course of a projectAbility to meet all agreed-upon deadlinesAbility to work independentlyCommitment to communicate and be available to the project and content managerCommitment to working successfully to improve outcomes for all students in a flexibly-paced, online, competency-based environment; with a focus on improving outcomes for underserved communities. Have an equity-minded focus and asset-based understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and faculty, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment. Knowledge of competency-based education and understanding of career and technical education programming. Proficiency in technology-driven document and collaboration tools, including Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and cloud-based tools.

Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor’s Degree computer Science, Graphic Design, Fine Arts or a similar area of study or related field with equivalent professional experience required.Excellent knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JavaScriptTeaching experience in the chosen subject area(s) is preferred.

Working Conditions and Travel
    Calbright College is a statewide online college where all instruction and support are done via various online technologies both in person and remotely. Calbright College has administrative offices in Sacramento available for use.
