Systems Application Analyst/Administrator

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Systems Application Analyst/Administrator in the Office of Information Technology Services. The Systems Application Analyst/Administrator administers Office 365 email and application services along with the design and maintenance of identity management systems. Performs administration and system application analyst functions for other assigned Enterprise Systems.
Duties include but are not limited to:· Acts as administrator for CCU’s Enterprise Email Systems and Enterprise Directory Services Systems, including Exchange and Office 365 as well as Active Directory and related systems. This includes regularly serving as a program/project leader involving both internal and external projects related to these systems. Performs analysis, design, and implementation of fault-tolerant systems and the planning for future requirements. May lead and direct the work of others in ITS.· Acts as Tier three support to client service systems. This includes modifying systems, maintaining patch deployment, and performing other related services necessary for client systems integration. Performs analysis, design, and maintenance, planning for growth, and hardware transitions. Leads the creation and execution of test scenarios and creates and tests more technical and complex scenarios to ensure proper system operation and freedom from defects.· Responsible for researching and advising on network configurations and security, as it relates to the configuration and management of Enterprise systems/servers, to effectively provide network resiliency and security to the Data Center. Constantly assesses and plans for modifications and/or additions to the environment that may increase fault tolerance.· Performs administration of other Enterprise Systems. These include Active Directory, VMware, and other server systems. Leads the planning, acquisition, and implementation of these systems.· Assists supervisor by contributing input to improve operational procedures, processes, and standards as well as change management, in alignment and collaboration with ITS goals and objectives to advance the University mission. Ensures and maintains information security and confidentiality. Utilizes University/ITS/individual resources and time effectively to accomplish tasks and projects.· Performs other duties as required.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or related field is preferred.

Information Systems/Business Analyst III (AM05/61122604/FTE-S00714P), full-time position with benefits. SC Pay Band 07. Salary range: $52,357.00 (minimum) – $74,613.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Friday. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Evening and weekend work will be required. Information confidentiality is highly critical.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of enterprise windows servers, directory services, e-mail systems, virtualization, and storage administration and how they relate to enterprise network architecture. Knowledge of advanced computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques. Experienced knowledge of capabilities, techniques, and intricacies of information systems. Ability to understand and carry out more complex technical instructions and requests. Ability to analyze and reduce to logical order more complex technical data. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and other IT personnel. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Ability to plan, direct, instruct, and review the work of technical personnel. Ability to provide status reports and other technical reports in a clear and concise manner. Understands principles of project management.
